STATE POLICE: Alcohol check nets 1 violation in Peru

District 17 officers conducted the Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement surveys at 12 establishments in La Salle-Peru May 22.

Of those businesses surveyed, one clerk, Douglas D. Draper, 26, of Peru, was arrested on complaint of delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor -- a Class A misdemeanor. Draper is an employee of Becks, 703 Shooting Park Road, Peru.

The following businesses also were checked and found in compliance:

351 Mini Mart, Casey's General Store, Express Lane Inc., Rudy's Liquors, La Salle Cigarette & Liquor and Flying J Travel Plaza, all in La Salle.

Peru businesses found in compliance were Harper Oil Co., Hy-Vee, CVS Pharmacy Store, Express Lane Gas & Food Mart and Peru Enterprises Inc. (BP Amoco).

The surveys are funded through the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Safety Administration.
