Officials to meet in Chestertown to learn new strategies to reduce

As the coordinator for the Flathead County Alcohol Enforcement Team in Montana, Bruyer has seen more than 3,800 underage drinking arrests since the program’s 2005 implementation, and the compliance rate has risen from 40 percent in 2005 to 70 percent today, according to a report from KAJ-TV in Kalispell, Mont."Hearing (Bruyer) speak — it humbles what we’re doing," Underwood said.The event will address underage drinking prevention by discussing topics like social host laws, where alcohol is coming from and how to increase compliance, identifying alcohol retail outlets and how to gather information from school settings before the drinking occurs."We’ll also address supporting penalties for offenders that match the consequence of the action, and supporting judges that come down hard on underage drinking," Underwood said.
