Dwarf pours free liquor down the throats of St Kilda pub patrons

Management at The Saint refused to comment about claims the Wednesday party nights could contravene new laws preventing irresponsible consumption of alcohol.

Jagermeister brand manager John Howells promised to investigate, saying the stunt was "not responsible service".

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd was unavailable for comment but Liquor Licensing Victoria did not rule out an investigation.

LLV spokeswoman Rebecca Harrison said "this conduct appears to be an example of serving alcohol irresponsibly".

Chairwoman for the National Local Government Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee, Jude Munro, said the stunt was unsafe and problematic.

"What St Kilda has to be careful of is that the very thing that attracts people to the area can so quickly turn around and put people off," she said.
